iphone 5 is reported un-repairable

Hello
ubreakifix  tech  center  reported my iphone 5 is un-repairable.
I am feeling a sense of loss for an object made by a company and founder i have learned may be more an evil to the world than a good .
Should I spend bunch of money on new phone ?
Should  I switch to Android  .
I need time to think  .
It feels like an end of an era .
